Getting Around in Fuerteventura
A small island with good transport network, It’s pretty easy to get around the whole of Fuerteventura.
- Buses
- Fuertueventura’s bus service Tiadhe runs services all over the island with 17 routes operating to major beach resorts and inland towns.
- If you intend to use the buses fairly frequently, it is worth investing in a Tarjeta Dinero discount card, which can save you around 30% per trip.
- Buses do not accept larger notes, so it’s a good idea to stock up on change you’re buying your tickets!
- Car
- Plenty of car rental agencies are located across the island, with the bigger international chains found in all major resorts.
- There are also many smaller local businesses which offer slightly older cars at a cheaper rental.
- Anyone who is over the age of 21 and has had a driving license for more than three years can rent a car. All you need to present is a driving license and passport.
- Taxi
- Taxis are easy to find in the main resorts. However it can become an expensive way to get around, so are normally recommended for short journeys only.
Fuerteventura is the second largest Canary Island, located just 100km from the African coast so is guaranteed great weather all year round!
